Nutraceuticals: BM-A1/BM-A2/BM-A3 BM-A1 Clinical Trial Natural Safe Alternative to Glucose-Lowering Drugs Candidate Therapeutic Intervention for Prevention of Metabolic Syndrome

BM-A3 for Metabolism Regulation BM-A3 is an extract made from Cyclocarya paliurus, a plant indigenous to China. Data shows that hyperglycemia and diabetes mellitus are very rare in areas in which the plant is grown, harvested and consumed in a beverage made from C. paliurus leaves. Studies have recently shown that an extract made from this plant shows bioactivity on glucose metabolism demonstrated by protection of stressed insulin producing cells, improvement of insulin secretion, and promotion of the use of blood glucose as energy. An extract of C. paliurus also exhibited hypoglycemic activity in normal and various diabetic animal models, including transgenic animals, and displayed hypolipemic effects in mice fed a high fat diet. Research has also shown that  BM-A3 can scavenge hydroxyl and superoxide radicals in a dose-dependent manner. This is an indicator that BM-A3 possesses potent antioxidant activity. BM-A3 was also shown to reduce blood glucose levels and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in a high fat rat model. Finally, in an in vitro model of insulin resistance (expression of resistin in adipocytes), BM-A3 was found to be a potent inhibitor.
